HOW IT ALL STARTED: THE STORY BEHIND WAMBUA COFFEE

I am James Wambua Keli and hail from a beautiful land called Kenya. My middle name Wambua comes from my Kamba tribe which means ‘a son born during a rainy season’. In our culture, rain signifies blessings for the land.

 

Wambua Coffee started as an idea after a visit back home in Kenya, while taking a tour at a local coffee farm. It was captivating to see the complex and thorough process that is used in Kenya, to transform the dark red ripe coffee cherries into the aromatic and delicious coffee we drink. After sipping a brew of premium quality coffee from the farm, my taste buds experienced pleasant explosion of tastes that sprung from the complexity of the beans! Ever since that day, I took it as my mission to make sure that all coffee lovers around the world should taste what I experienced on that day.

OUR MISSION

Wambua Coffee’s mission is to provide the premium Specialty Kenyan coffee to coffee lovers who enjoy tasting unique coffee notes. We offer specialty coffee from Kenya which is 100% arabica. But why Kenyan coffee? Kenya is widely known for the best quality of coffee the world has to offer. The excellent weather conditions, the volcanic soil, the quality process of picking and the unique processing techniques, give Kenya an edge in the coffee market that no country has.

 

In addition, our passion and love for Kenya also solidifies our commitment to improving education in Kenya. We believe that education plays a fundamental role in economic empowerment, innovation and development. That’s why we have partnered with Stiftung African Children help – Gerd Hagmaier, to further the agenda of supporting schools in Kenya. 10% will be deducted from our profit of every kilogram you purchase.
